A native of Baltimore, Judith Schonebaum has embraced the artistic environment of the West Coast, where the light, color and rhythms of California have become strong influences.
Her body of work includes landscape, figurative and floral pieces in pastel and acrylic, mixed-media abstract collages of hand-made and exotic papers and functional art created from recycled and natural materials.
In addition to studio work, she pursues her life-long passions for music, folk traditions, handcrafts, dance, and theater. To fulfill her personal commitment to community service through art, she has facilitated collaborative stepping-stone, quilt, mural, banner and craft projects.
She received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Vermont, including an intensive folk art program at the Shelburne Museum.
